There are numerous casinos in the state, the biggest number being on moored scows. The grandest of the Iowa gambling halls is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Indian gambling den in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of casino room, 1,500 slots, thirty table games, such as blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and many types of poker; including three eatery’s, bimonthly productions, and gambling classes. One more substantial Amerindian casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 square feet, 668 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is open 24 hours, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and 4 restaurants. There are several other popular Iowa gambling halls, which includes Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A smaller Iowa gambling hall is the Diamond Jo, a river based casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend river based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. Another Iowa riverboat gambling hall, The Isle of Capri, is available 24 hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot paddle wheel boat gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live shows, and Thursday chemin de fer matches.

Iowa casinos present an excellent deal of tax revenue to the government of Iowa, which has allowed the funding of many state wide activities. Visitors have increased at a fast rate along with the demand for companies and a gain in jobs. Iowa gambling halls have contributed to the growth of the market, and the affection for gaming in Iowa is absolute.
