Salaries vary by establishment and area. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) numbers show that full time gaming managers were paid a median annual figure of $46,820 in 1999. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $26,630, and the highest 10 percent earned in the region of $96,610.
Gaming supervisors take charge of gaming operations and employees in an assigned area. Circulating among the table games, they see that all stations and games are covered for each shift. It also is normal for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating laws for players. Supervisors might also plan and arrange activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.
Gaming supervisors must have obvious leadership qualities and top notch communication skills. Despite their educational background, however, most supervisors gain expertise in other wagering occupations before moving into supervisory desks because knowledge of games and casino operations is important for these employees.
