Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling hall wagering is illegal. Eight gambling halls are established in a relatively small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia gambling dens is in a perfect location, a three to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai laborers and tourists from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing capital acquired from the casinos ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few controls constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; although, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and although visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is correct of most borders.

The initial Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred one armed bandits and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the normal table games, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel complex that features many luxuries accompanying the casino, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and 88 tables.
